The colouring and markings of this species are quite similar to those of Argiope keyserlingi but A. picta is a much less common species. The stabilimentum (thickened, serrated web) built into its web is not normally the complete X shape formed by Argiope keyserlingi.
Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Argiope keyserlingi and Argiope trifasciata.
