The spider shown on this page has the overall shape of a Holoplatys species but the orange stripe and pair of dots on the abdomen of this male are characters not seen on any of the Australian Holoplatys species described by Marek Zabka in his 1991 paper. The only known Australian Holoplatys species that has an orange stripe along its abdomen is Holoplatys semiplanata but the spider presented above otherwise bears little resemblance to that species and therefore is presumed to be a different and undescribed species.
