The toxicity of the venom of this species is unknown but it may at least cause local pain and inflammation

The surface markings of this species are are somewhat variable but the spider has a stocky overall appearance and is rather hairy, especially around
the palps. Dr. Barry Richardson (CSIRO Entomology, Canberra) believes this spider to be Servaea villosa but advises that the
abdominal markings are unreliable species indicators and that several Servaea species have essentially the same general appearance. Only by examining the genitalia under
a stereo microscope can these species be distinguished from each other.
